Cobb County Spring Break
April 2-6, 2018
Enjoy your break!
Gimme 5 for Education
This year our school is participating the “Gimme 5 for Education” campaign to raise funds for the Cobb Schools Foundation and our school! All students who donate will be entered into a drawing to win 2 Braves tickets!
The Cobb Schools Foundation is the only non-profit organization that supports all of our 112 schools, staff and students in Cobb County School District. All funds collected will directly benefit our schools through Foundation supported scholarships, grants and programs for our schools, students and staff.
Help us to reach our goal of 100% participation by making a $5 tax-deductible contribution and return it to school today! Give a “High 5” to education!
Help support our schools & students! Donations can be sent to the school or donate online by visiting www.CobbSchoolsFoundation.org

411 from your School Social Worker
Students have three (3) school days to turn in an excuse note to the Attendance Clerk. Any note turned in after that, the absence will remained unexcused.
Absences due to vacation/family trips, outside of school sanctioned holiday breaks, are considered un-excused.
Preparing for Standardized Tests
With the state tests coming up, here are a few tips for your middle schooler to prepare:
Knowing how to approach different kinds of questions will help her score higher. For instance, on multiple-choice sections, she could cover up answers while she reads the question. If the answer she thought of is listed and the other options don’t make more sense, she can be pretty sure she’s right.
Have your child find out whether she’ll lose points for wrong answers. If not, it’s best to guess. Also, if scrap paper is allowed, she can use it to work out problems and to keep her place on the answer sheet.
“The time is always right to do what is right.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
Car Pool Rules
For the safety of all the children, please do not stop to pick up your student in the afternoon until your car is inside the blue painted lines. Also, if you would prefer to park your car, we ask that you meet your child at the crosswalk and walk with them back to your car.
Early Check-Out Procedures
Please help us to maximize your students learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.
Parents, please remember that you need to stop by the front office to sign in as a visitor anytime that you are in the building. This applies to the mornings before the 8:50 homeroom bell as well as after school.
This is for the safety of all the students and staff in the building.
