Attention 8th Grade Parents!
8th Grade Parents/Guardians- The Magnet School application system opened on Sunday, October 1st and will close on Friday, December 1st (except Pebblebrook). If your 8th grade student is interested in attending a magnet school in high school, please make sure you don’t miss this window to apply. During the month of October, CCSD Magnet programs will also be hosting prospective student nights at their respective schools. Annual Holiday Food Drive Has Begun!!
Palmer Middle School is collecting traditional Thanksgiving dinner items this year. Non-perishable food such as rice, beans, soup, pasta and sauce, peanut butter, and other food to feed families the week we are out of school for the holiday. We need your support to make our Food Drive a success.
The winning homerooms will receive a special treat!!
Collection boxes will be in the homerooms through November 10, 2017.
Hints for Homework
Think about Time
Ask your child to consider different time slots she can use to get work done. For instance, maybe she could set aside a weekend morning or Sunday night. Also, some middle graders have time during study period or after lunch to tackle homework. Encourage your child to complete one assignment at school each day. The more she does then, the more she’ll have for fun later.
October Intramurals – Basketball & Soccer
Intramurals meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Student Choice Day). School doors open at approximately 8:00 and will close at 8:10. Students will need to bring a change of clothes (PE clothes) to participate.
Please help us to maximize your students learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.
Parents, please remember that you need to stop by the front office to sign in as a visitor anytime that you are in the building. This applies to the mornings before the 8:50 homeroom bell as well as after school.
This is for the safety of all the students and staff in the building.

Kell Football and Cheer Programs have kicked off their annual Hawaiian vacation fundraiser.
The winner will receive TWO first class tickets to Maui, Hawaii for a four-night stay at a luxury hotel, the Grand Wailea Resort! The drawing will take place at the November 3, 2017 Varsity football game.
