Please help us to maximize your student’s learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification, we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.

Please place cut box tops in a plastic baggie with your child’s homeroom teacher’s name on it. Drop off locations for students will be: Front Office and Media Center.

From the Learning Commons (Media Center)
We are under construction! Our Media Center is making the transition to a “Learning Commons” model. What we do in the space – reading, teaching, researching, and learning – will stay the same. However, we are getting all-new furniture in the next couple of weeks to provide flexibility for the activities that happen as well as some soft seating for our many readers and friends of the library! Stay tuned for exciting changes!
If you are interested in volunteering in the Media Center/Learning Commons, please contact Taylor Wickline at email@example.com. Sign up for weekly time slots or monthly! Any help is appreciated. We generally ask for volunteers to come in for a minimum of one hour and we primarily need help with shelving. It’s easy and fun!
If anyone has a Wii or Nintendo gaming system they would like to donate, please contact Taylor Wickline in the Media Center at firstname.lastname@example.org. We use the systems as a rotation in our weekly “Play Room,” and we are down to one unit.
All Summer Reading is due by next Friday, August 4th. Please log your minutes or write short book reviews at the Summer Reading link on the Learning Commons web page – cobblearning.net/palmerlc. The link for the Learning Commons is at the top of Palmer’s school web page.

Calling all Volunteers
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or otherwise involved in a Palmer student’s life, the PTSA could use your help. We provide volunteers for many areas of the school, in a variety of programs throughout the year. Signing up does not commit you to anything, it just allows us to contact you when volunteers are needed.
We have an immediate need for volunteers at the attendance desk and at our school store. Both of these areas are staffed by volunteers every morning, from 8:40-9:20 in the school store and from 8:30-10:00 in attendance. Whether you can help one day every week, one day every other week, or just every once in awhile, we can use your help. Whether you need notebooks and paper or mints and locker mirrors, we have lots to offer in the school store. You can also buy your spirit wear here! Please visit http://palmer.ptsamail.com/school-store/ to check out all the items and prices. We plan to be open every morning from 8:40-9:10, so come by and check things out.
In addition to traditional school supplies and spirit wear, we also have music books for band and orchestra. Music books are pre-order only, so bring the Palmer Music Book Order Form and cash or check (or we have forms in the store). Band and Orchestra books are $10 each, and the additional 6th Grade Orchestra workbooks are $5 each. We will pick the book up and have it waiting at the school store within a week.
Please note: 6th Grade Students should wait until their instrument is approved by their instructor. Additionally, 8th Grade Band students will use the same book from 7th grade for part of the year. The 8th grade book may be purchased now or later in the year.

During Open House, PTSA will have the following:
1. Spirit Wear – We’ll have new shirts, vintage shirts, pajama pants, string bags, and car magnets. You can also order long-sleeved shirts or hoodies!
2. Memberships – Show your support for our schools, teachers, and students by joining PTSA (plus you’ll get some nice freebies). We also accept family donations in lieu of a school-wide fundraiser this year.
