Medications in Clinic

Reminder to parents who have students with medications in the clinic: Please have your student’s medications picked up by the last day of school, May 24th. Any medications not picked up on the last day of school will be disposed of.

8th Grade Activities

We need your help with the 8th grade Carnival. If you are able to volunteer or donate items, please sign up below:

We need your help to celebrate our children as they make their next transition from Middle School to High School. Let’s give them a great send off! Please consider volunteering and/or donating for our 8th grade end of year activities.

Please send in your 8th grade activity dues as soon possible. $10.00 for the carnival.
We need these donations to make the 8th grade activities a huge success.

As always, students will enjoy a wide variety of activities in which all students may participate. Homerooms represent their academic teams A or B and will “compete” against each other during a memorable day filled with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and fun!

Driver Permits

If your child will be turning 15 over the summer and will need to get his/her enrollment certificate to get his/her driver’s permit, please email our PPO clerk, Heather Simmons at Please include the student’s name and DOB. Mrs. Simmons will distribute the certificates to the student during the last week of school. If your child turns 15 after 7/31/17, you’ll need to request the certificate from their high school. Certificates are only good for 30 days from the date they are issued.

The last day to request a certificate of enrollment is May 12th.

Cafeteria Meals

During the last 2 weeks of school, you must use funds from your account, cash, or check to pay for a meal and/or a la carte purchases. Charging a meal will not be permitted!

Media Center Changes Coming!

The Media Center is in need of a gently used Wii system if anyone would like to donate one. It should be in good working condition. Please contact Taylor Wickline at if you can help! A tax deduction can be provided.

Secondly, the Media Center is in the process of streamlining resources and equipment. We could use any extra help possible with this process. Parents who can spare any time to help, please contact Taylor Wickline in the Media Center at

Career Day

May 23rd
Inspire and encourage our students to explore career possibilities for their future at our 3rd Annual Career Day on Tuesday, May 23, from 9:25 am – 1:30 pm. We need approximately 20 enthusiastic speakers to share their expertise in their specific occupation with our students. Go to the Palmer website for letter and registration form.

Palmer Panther Champion Experience

June 5th
8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Palmer MS is hosting a Rising 6th grade Student Champion Experience. Students will have an opportunity to participate in exciting activities, meet future teachers and learn effective strategies to have a successful 6th grade year. Students will meet other students and participate in team building activities with peers.

Students will be provided a Pizza lunch and a Palmer MS t-shirt. There is a $10 registration fee to cover program costs.

Students will check in from 8:30 am – 8:45 am. Student pick up will be at 12:30 pm. Please come by the front office to pick up your registration form.

Stamps for Mailing Report Cards At End of School Year

In an effort to help cover the postage cost to mail report cards home, we are requesting each student make a $2.00 donation towards postage. Donations can be made through the end of the school year May 24th. Please place your donation in a school payment envelope and drop in one of the black payment boxes located throughout the school. We appreciate your help and support!

We have a few items discounted in the school store, so drop by and pick up some items for summer or even for next year. For AVID students, we have Cornell-style notebooks for $4 (these are great for those going to high school next year–you’ll be ready to succeed!). For music lovers, we have a 7th/8th grade Bassoon book, rosin, orchestra strings, band reeds, and even a fabric bow cover. Check out prices at

We’ll have it waiting for you at Preview Day (or you can pick up once school starts). Kell HS Football

Rising 9th Graders
The Kell Football Program is having 9th grade football spring practice for all upcoming 9th graders districted for Kell on the following dates and times: Freshman will practice on May 3,4,8,9,11,12,15,16 and 18 from 5:30 until 7:15.
On Tuesday May 2nd from 4:45 pm to 6:30 pm upcoming 9th graders are to register and pick up equipment at Kell. In order to register and get equipment you MUST have an updated copy of a physical. If you have any questions please contact Head Football Coach Brett Sloan by email at .

Kennesaw State University Youth Writing Academy Creative Writing Camp
