The BIG Thank You

The Bert Show believes that every single soldier deployed outside the United States deserves to receive a letter of gratitude on Thanksgiving Day. Palmer Middle School will partner with The Bert Show again this year to help give our troops a “BIG THANK YOU” with a little taste of home this Thanksgiving!
Each letter should be heartfelt, handwritten, original, and free of any political statements.
All letters must be 8.5×11 paper or smaller.
Please do not use glue, tape, staples, cardboard, glitter or otherwise attach anything to the paper.
You can decorate using crayons, markers, pens or pencils.
NO construction paper.
You may use both sides of the paper if you like, but use one page per letter only.
Please do not send greeting cards or photographs.
Feel free to include your mailing and email address – sometimes military members will write back!
Individual letters should not be sealed in envelopes.

DUE Monday, October 23, 2017
Letters may be turned in to the collection box at the Palmer Front Office

RED Ribbon Week is October 23-27th

We are currently collecting names for Thanksgiving and holiday assistance. If your family is in need of assistance during this time, please contact school counselors Lauren Holland or Barbara Truluck, or our school social worker, Ginnie Barnes at 770-591-5020 as soon as possible but no later than October 27, 2017.
All requests are kept confidential.

Attention 8th Grade Parents!

8th Grade Parents/Guardians- The Magnet School application system opened on Sunday, October 1st and will close on Friday, December 1st (except Pebblebrook). If your 8th grade student is interested in attending a magnet school in high school, please make sure you don’t miss this window to apply. During the month of October, CCSD Magnet programs will also be hosting prospective student nights at their respective schools. For additional information, please visit:

October Intramurals – Basketball & Soccer

Intramurals meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Student Choice Day). School doors open at approximately 8:00 and will close at 8:10. Students will need to bring a change of clothes (PE clothes) to participate. All students welcome! Bring a Parent(s) to Intramurals will be Friday, October 27th.

Early Dismissals

Please help us to maximize your students learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.

Parents, please remember that you need to stop by the front office to sign in as a visitor anytime that you are in the building. This applies to the mornings before the 8:50 homeroom bell as well as after school.
This is for the safety of all the students and staff in the building.
