Conference Week is Coming!
We have made it to the end of the first nine weeks! We have sent home a conference week form with your student’s scheduled conference time. Please make sure you have signed the form so your student can return that back to their homeroom teacher.
Report cards for the 1st quarter will be handed out during your conference.
Conference week is Oct 16-20.
Attention all artists!!!
The Reflections contest has officially kicked off for the 2017-18 school year! Last year Palmer’s very own Isabelle Gonzales won FIRST PLACE on the state level for her film entry! There is no doubt we have some extraordinary artists at Palmer and can’t wait to see what they delight us with this year!
This year’s theme is “Within Reach”.
As always, the categories include: visual art, music composition, literature, dance choreography, film production, and photography.
Student entry packets can be found in the all the Connections Classes and Language Arts rooms or on the Reflections bulletin board outside of the Media Center.
The deadline to turn in entries is Friday, October 13. Turn into the media center. Entries can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
There will be a celebration at Palmer after the entries are judged. At the celebration the winners will be announced and they will advance to the next level of judging.

Attention 8th Grade Parents!
8th Grade Parents/Guardians- The Magnet School application system opened on Sunday, October 1st and will close on Friday, December 1st (except Pebblebrook). If your 8th grade student is interested in attending a magnet school in high school, please make sure you don’t miss this window to apply. During the month of October, CCSD Magnet programs will also be hosting prospective student nights at their respective schools. Free Food for those in need Saturday October 14th at 2pm– Heritage Presbyterian Church will be holding their monthly mobile food pantry. They are located at 5323 Bells Ferry Road, Acworth, 30102. Lines can begin forming at 1:30pm. 2 family maximum per car – an adult must be present to represent each household.
October Intramurals – Basketball & Soccer
Intramurals meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Student Choice Day). School doors open at approximately 8:00 and will close at 8:10. Students will need to bring a change of clothes (PE clothes) to participate. All students welcome! Bring a Parent(s) to Intramurals will be Friday, October 27th.
Please help us to maximize your students learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.
