Hurricane Relief Effort
Palmer Middle School is joining the Cobb County School District in their effort to collect items needed for the displaced families of the recent hurricanes.
We will continue to collect the items listed below through September 22.
Cases of Bottled Water
Shampoo – travel size
Soap – travel size
Collection barrels will be located in the Front Office and outside of the Learning Commons at the school.
October 16 – 20th
Information will be coming home on September 20th with your student.

Intramurals have started!
Intramurals meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. School doors open at approximately 8:00 and will close at 8:10. Students will need to bring a change of clothes (PE clothes) to participate. All students welcome!
Please help us to maximize your students learning experience by minimizing classroom interruptions. We ask that if your child needs to leave school early, please SEND a note with him/her to school. Your child should take the note to the Attendance Office where he/she will be given an early dismissal pass. That way, your child will be waiting for you in the Attendance Office when you arrive. Your help with student check-out will be greatly appreciated! Due to verification we cannot accept dismissals over the phone.

Our Fall collection deadline is October 20, 2017
Please place cut box tops in a plastic baggie with your child’s homeroom teacher’s name on it. Drop off locations for students will be: Front Office and Media Center.

From the Learning Commons (Media Center)
We are under construction! Our Media Center is making the transition to a “Learning Commons” model. What we do in the space – reading, teaching, researching, and learning – will stay the same. However, we are getting all-new furniture in the next couple of weeks to provide flexibility for the activities that happen as well as some soft seating for our many readers and friends of the library! Stay tuned for exciting changes!
If you are interested in volunteering in the Media Center/Learning Commons, please contact Taylor Wickline at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sign up for weekly time slots or monthly! Any help is appreciated. We generally ask for volunteers to come in for a minimum of one hour and we primarily need help with shelving. It’s easy and fun!

Cobb EMC – School Fundraiser – Receive four fair tickets with unlimited rides at the North Georgia State Fair!
Help Palmer raise money by attending the Cobb EMC Annual Meeting! Your school can earn money and you, as a Cobb EMC member, will get up to four free fair tickets with unlimited rides to the North Georgia State Fair. Members attending the Annual Meeting will also have a chance to win BIG prizes including smart watches, bill credit, a refurbished Cobb EMC truck and much more.
To support your school during this fundraiser, remember to bring the school challenge certificate to the Annual Meeting on September 16.
